When it comes to making movies, there’s Hollywood of course, and you’ve probably heard of Bollywood in India. But now get ready for shouts of “Action!” from Chinawood. That’s right, the Chinese have discovered the blockbuster, and with potential theatre audiences of 1.4 billion people, it’s not surprising that in China more than 20 new cinema screens are opening every day. In this business worth billions, it’s expected that Chinawood will soon topple Hollywood. But far from being worried, American and Aussie filmmakers are racing to get in on the action.

China, the gateway to East Asia, is a fascinating country. It is an ancient civilization that gave the world Peking Man, gunpowder and noodles. Visitors making their first trip to China usually stick to the larger cities. More experienced visitors to the Middle Kingdom will strike out in other directions, where traveling may be a bit more frustrating because of the language barrier, but most definitely doable for independent travelers. Here’s a look at the best places to visit in China:

When XPENG revealed its humanoid robot “Iron,” people refused to believe it was real. Its movements were so human-like that the internet exploded with conspiracy theories—claiming it had to be an actor in a suit. But instead of arguing online, XPENG did something unbelievable: they brought Iron back on stage… and cut it open live to prove it was 100% robotic.
In this video, we dive into how this Chinese robot fooled the world, the emotional moment that silenced the skeptics, and how XPENG’s engineers built the most lifelike humanoid robot ever made. From its biomimetic spine and synthetic muscles to AI chips running trillions of operations per second—this isn’t science fiction anymore. It’s the next step in human-robot evolution.

powerful playing, excellent musicality - dramatic and emotional: "The Ambush from all sides" (中国传统音乐经典琵琶名曲 《十面埋伏》), is undoubtedly the most famous pipa master piece from the Chinese traditional repertoire, performed by virtuoso soloist Liu Fang （劉芳）during a solo recital in the Pierre-Mercurre Hall of the Centre Pierre-Peladeau, on March 27, 2002, in Montreal, recorded by Mr. Zhou Fan of Montreal Multi-cultural TV, Chinese chanel.
Pipa is a Chinese traditional music instrument with over 2000 years of history. The "Ambush from ten side" is one of the most famous classical instrumental music of China.
With its highly virtuoso programmatic effects and tremendous power, this piece is regarded as the most representative of the "martial repertoire" of classical pipa solo. It describes the glorious victory of Liu Bang over Xiang Yu in 202 BC, the same theme as "The King doffs his Armour", however, from a totally different view point. There is no information about the composer, but some researches indicate that this piece might be dated back as early as the Chinese Tang Dynasty (618-917AD).
L'Embuscade (tradition classique) -
